Research Expectations

Greetings! Hm.... as we get down to the final weeks of data collection/mentor time in Costa Rica, I'm starting to think about the coming semester in New Jersey. I've been wracking my brain wondering what I'm expecting but the answer is pretty simple: nothing! I have pretty close to zero expectations because I have never done research and/or geophysics before. I've also learned that it's best to expect the unexpected and remain flexible/adaptable up to the last minute when planning for research. So I plan to ride the waves as they come, absorb as much information as possible, and try my best this semester. What will be will be.

I'm looking forward to the next week and a half here: we have plans to go to the beach one last time and do some final field work. I have learned so much in the short time we have been here. I am grateful for Oscar's expertise and patience in teaching, and I am excited to get to work with Emily this semester. Stay tuned!

Emily and I are ready to tackle all the challenges ahead!
