Veragua seismic station installed

A third seismic station of the GREAT network started operating on Thursday, August 30th. It is located in Veragua Rain Forest park ( The best part is that our colleagues at RSN managed to establish a continuous transmission link, illustrated by an image below. The data flow into the common system at RSN and will contribute to the task of routine earthquake monitoring, adding a much needed observing site on the eastern side of the Talamanca Mountains. Of course, trucks and tourists and toucans will be monitored as well...

I am sure service visits to the station will be a high point of the future work on the project.
