A Few GREAT Thoughts...

With a little more than a month to go until we leave to go to Costa Rica, I am very excited yet nervous for the trip. In a classroom lab, we know if a measurement is messed up if the measurement does not agree with the well tested theory. However, in the real world of science, it is a lot harder to know if a measurement is messed up; and, it may not be known that there was a mistake until weeks later when analyzing the data.

In about a week and a half, Prof. Levin, me and 2 other students in our cohort will be traveling to Socorro, NM to learn how to use the equipment that we will be using in CR. I am excited for this trip because I love working with lab equipment and there will be a giant warehouse of equipment.

So far I do not have anything negative to say about this 18 month program. The spring semester seminar was helpful, in my opinion, for motivating the research that we will be doing in CR. I am sure that that seminar will be the first of many positive experiences from this program.
